What is Multimedia Design?
Multimedia is an introductory course to photo design and production. This class provides fundamental knowledge of visual design as it applies to multimedia and graphic design. Everyday we are introduced to graphic design and basic animation using industry standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Animate, and more. Day-to-day, students analyze, evaluate, and identify practical and creative strategies for creating each of the course projects. Our graphic design skills are developed through projects, research, and critiques from our teacher. We also do our fair share of research which is a part of the objectives so we learn the most effective means to visually communicate our ideas. Some of our general topics include illustration, logo design, packaging, photo processing, photo correction, and visual design for websites.
Photoshop allows users to manipulate, crop, resize, and correct color on digital photos. In this software, we altered images and photos from the internet in specific projects.
Animate is used to design vector graphics and animation for television programs, online video, websites, web applications, rich internet applications, and video games. We used animate to make our own mini-videos and gifs.

Illustrator is a program used by both artists and graphic designers to create vector images. These images can then be used for company logos, promotional uses or even personal work, both in print and digital form. In relation to our multimedia class, we designed lots of logos and images with text for our projects.
InDesign is a desktop publishing and typesetting software application which can be used to create works such as posters, flyers, brochures, magazines, newspapers, presentations, books and ebooks.
